The local authorities election took place on November 2nd.1908. There were 5 candidates, Mr F. R. Noyce was among them.

The first three were retiring Councillors, including Mr Noyce. He had only a one vote margin over another retiring councillor and so gained re-election. I wonder how many recount there were.

Mr Noyce was already a councillor so it is possible that he may have retired from the brigade as he expected to be selected for a council post.

He continued in his post of Sub Captain with the brigade until a successor was elected.
