The Union had been the subject of adverse publicity in the recent past. The national press about that time carried scathing reports of conditions for the inmates, while members of the board were being feted with sit down lunches and drinks. Drill involving a town facility This was combined with hydrant testing while in the area to familiarise the crew with their location and with the building and it's fire provisions. The test no doubt involved some, if not all it's elderly and child occupants. Crew |
